Visit the casinoThe Casino at Ben Lomond Stay
The Casino is on the ground floor of the lodge, off the far end of the lounge, past the fireplace and along the short corridor. The room is darker than the rest of the house: low lamps over the tables, the rest of the light coming off the machines. Twenty slot machines, the pokies, line the wall on your right. Ahead of them are the table games — two blackjack tables, a single-zero roulette wheel, and a poker table that runs Thursday to Sunday. Guests play for real money here, at the machines and at the tables. The windows on the lake side are not curtained.
The Casino is open from 6pm to 2am, seven days. Dress code is smart casual: a collar or a tidy jumper, closed shoes, and no wet hiking gear, hi-vis or ski gear straight off the mountain. Hats are fine. Entry is free, for guests staying in the suites and for visitors driving out from town alike, with no cover charge and no membership. The bar runs along the window beside the floor, the same list as the lounge, open until close. Live music is on Friday and Saturday evenings from 8pm, usually a guitarist and a singer on the small stage by the bar.
Entry is restricted to persons aged 20 and over. Photo ID is checked at the door on every visit, not only your first, because that is what the Gambling Act 2003 requires of us. All gaming takes place on-site only: there is no app, no live dealer stream, and nothing anywhere on this website that takes a wager. Our staff are trained to recognise problem gambling, breaks are there for the asking, self-exclusion is available on request, and there are no ATMs on the gaming floor. If gambling is causing problems for you or someone you know, call the Gambling Helpline free and confidentially on 0800 654 655, 24 hours a day, or visit choicenotchance.org.nz.
